No. It's cool water mist from an ultrasonic disc inside the bean bag, pushed up through the figure and out of the joint. No fire, no heat, and no smell unless you add essential oil.
How do I refill it?
Lift the top off (the bean bag shell with the guy on it comes off in one piece), pour water into the tank, add a few drops of oil if you like, and put the top back on. One button turns it on.
Can I use essential oils?
Yes. A few drops of any water-soluble essential oil in the tank and it scents the room while it mists. Tick the essential oil set on your bundle to get six scents with your order. It works fine with plain water too.

Does it really smoke?
It mists. An ultrasonic disc turns water into a cool, fine mist that drifts out of the joint. No fire, no heat, nothing to light.
